Our Little Bake Shoppe

Have you ever seen a cuter bunch of tiny bakers? The play bake shoppe tucked away here at Miss Julia's keeps lots of our little visitors busy while important decisions are made at the cupcake counter. Kiddos of all ages get to try their hand at running a bakery, and we love to see the excitement that goes along with “making” their own cupcakes and cookies. These bakers work hard stirring batter (don’t lick the spoon!), placing treats in the oven, and frosting their creations. . .the final presentations seem to never disappoint! Leaving this pint-sized bakery is hard for most, but we remind our friends not to fret because there are still real cupcakes to be eaten at home. And we promise the kitchen will be just as it was left when they visit again. :)

Our Newest Creation

At Miss Julia's, we are all about spicing things up.  Often you'll find us in our kitchen experimenting with new flavors, new toppings, and new ideas.  We are mad scientists back there!  Sometimes ideas don't work out, but sometimes they do.  And when they do, if we can say so ourselves, by golly they are good!  Meet our latest cupcake...The Grasshopper!  One man couldn't help but clap his hands for joy when he saw it today.   The grasshopper cupcake has a delicious moist chocolate cake, a mint buttercream frosting, an oreo crumble on top, and a cute mini oreo for the finishing touch.  Stop drooling at your computer and come in and try it!

All right, all of you cupcake lovers!  It is the moment you have all been waiting for, right?  The official beginning of Miss Julia's blog!  Who doesn't need a little more pink and green in their life?  Especially on a day when you aren't able to visit Miss Julia's Bake Shop!  We want to give you the scoop on our newest cupcakes, our latest weddings, our craziest goings on at the shop and so much more!  So get ready to be amazed.  Many of you have been in the shop and know the story of how Miss Julia's began. Paula Hienz and her husband Bill started the shop in April of 2010 and the city of Brookfield became quite a bit sweeter that day!  We love all things cupcake and cannot wait to bring to you life at the Bake Shop.  Come in and visit us!
